Fathers, Fishing and Fun
The StarNet group from East St.Louis began this event in 2003 as an opportunity for inner-city, single parent children to go fishing, many for the first time.
The Outdoorsmen Club was called and asked to provide volunteer services in all aspects of the event. Outdoorsmen assisted in craft making, face painting, game playing, serving food and most of all, fishing. We baited hooks, unhooked the fish, weighed them, and tallied the catch. AND we had a ball.
